The Hangaroa Lodge is perfect for those travelers seeking a destination that’s off the beaten track and away from maddening crowds. This eco-village & spa is a place where you can slip into a different world, a different culture, while you are sure to meet new and interesting people in this place surrounded by a calmness that’s usually only dreamt of.   The Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa is a place where you will find simplicity, the origins of humankind and, above all, the beauty of nature.  The most luxurious property on Easter Island – and also the only five-star resort on “Isla Pascua” – Hangaroa Eco Village is located in the island’s main town of Hanga Roa, right on the shoreline looking out to sea.   This large 75-room hotel is spread across 17 acres and is designed in the traditional style of the indigenous Rapa Nui people. Rooms are set in individual huts formed of grass-covered roofs, wooden pillars and dark stone walls, with these natural materials promoting a harmonic interrelationship in which nature and construction blend together as one. Within each of the rooms, however, modern styling and luxurious appointments await, including Wi-Fi, oversized tubs, super-comfortable beds, and unbeatable views in some rooms. Sustainable practices extend to natural lighting and recycling, as well as to practices of local food sourcing.   The hotel's lobby, restaurants, and lounge areas evoke a “casa bote, “a traditional house that looks like an upside-down boat, while the holistic spa's four treatment rooms resemble cave dwellings. The spa’s facilities include a hot tub, a sauna and a massage room. For quality dining and relaxation, the lodge features two upscale restaurants and one bar. Guests can also relax on the sun loungers by the pool or participate in the daily guided-excursions provided by the eco-lodge. Cultural activities are also organized. The hotel offers only packages with full and partial board, and a minimum three-night stay, which includes the guided tours and other activities.
